The outdoor kitchen is the center of attention of the space, located across from the home’s indoor kitchen. Complete with an outdoor seating area, built-in bar, sink, ice machine and fire pit, this outdoor space is the perfect setting to cook, dine, entertain and relax with family and friends.
Anne Michaelsen Yahn explains she approached the project by asking herself what her main priorities were: “I absolutely wanted a pizza oven, a multifunctional grill, another burner that could be used for wok cooking or boiling large pots of water, and most importantly, I really wanted it to function as nicely as my indoor kitchen.”
The kitchen is fully equipped with open-shelving cabinets offering flexible storage for cooking and entertaining needs, functional storage drawers, a pull-out refuse and recycling accessory, and a countertop planter for her herb garden.
Our Onyx powder coating finish, a deep, dark black, is paired with Stainless Steel handles and Dekton® Feroe countertops. The result is striking, as the kitchen stands out against the backyard’s lush greenery, and integrates with the home’s indoor furnishings beautifully.
Anne adds, “From my indoor kitchen, I now look outside to this area that used to be boring, and I see my outdoor kitchen. I like that my indoor and outdoor kitchen are across from each other.” The two spaces flow seamlessly thanks to bi-folding doors.
According to Anne, “people will want to entertain outdoors more and more. It’s become part of the way we live now. And [she] believes kitchens like this will become a mainstay of that living.”
